Discover the Christmas Candlelight Walk in Augusta – Missouri
Nearly 1,000 luminaries illuminate your path throughout Historic Augusta, MO the first two Friday nights of December between five to ten PM. The annual attraction has more than a 25 year history and has become a tradition for the entire community to host. A complimentary Trolley service will take you across town to tour the many shops and vintage stores, wine producers and brewery, diners and food courts, discover unusual art such as hand-blown glass, crafts, and jewelry.
The local church can help get you in the holiday cheer with Christmas songs and encourage you to join along or just listen in the church sanctuary under a giant Christmas tree. The village square can heighten your holiday cheer with a horse drawn carriage ride around the heart of town, a toasty bon fire with Chestnuts roasting and marshmallows toasting, and Santa Claus waiting to hear you Christmas wishes.
The holiday enthusiast will appreciate the challenge of our Holiday Scavenger Hunt with a Christmas quiz and an evening awash with gathering treasurers from all the shops. You can submit your answers to our History Museum and register for prizes from our local merchants.
You can easily relax by appreciating our band at Mount Pleasant Winery with a glass of wine; enjoy the evening at dinner accompanying friends at Café Bella, Augusta Brewing Company, Ashley’s Rose or Balducci’s; relax with a therapeutic massage at Halcyon or they can shop till you drop at a many of specialty shops and antique stores – a great northeast Missouri vacation.
Experience the holiday season in Augusta, Missouri on either of the first two Fridays of December with our Annual Candlelight Christmas Walk. The Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce sponsors this event annually and you will feel the Christmas spirit throughout the village. We recommend you make your hotel reservations quickly, before all the rooms are taken. The festivities starts at five PM and continue until ten PM with over one thousand luminaries illuminating your way across town.

Halcyon spa offers free chair massage to relax you throughout the hustle and bustle of the season. The restaurants and food stands will curb your hunger with specials and homemade delights.
